In the loss of this election, I thought mostly of my mother.
My mother has supported Hillary since day one.
She supported Hillary as a Democrat, but also as a strong woman, a strong mother, a strong professional. My mother has had her own struggles with inequality in the workplace and at home, but has continued to work tirelessly for our family and others. Like Hillary, my mom is often very composed in a pantsuit (of sorts) and as a result can be seen as cold. But underneath the elegant exterior is a well of passion, power, and love that has ignited me in my life.
I'm thankful for the support she gave and continues to give me. Today, I hope I help others as she did for me.
This is for all the nasty women in my life.
